Health & Wealth for Humans and Their Animals

Why Algae?

I don’t know about you, but for me, 2013 really feels like a new beginning. I’m focusing on lots of new and creative projects, among them more published books on animal communication (including a children’s series) and rejuvenating my nutritional algae business, which I’ve had for 20 years. I see more people and animals than ever before in need of enhanced nutrition for their health and wellness, both mental and physical, and there are not that many perfect, pure foods to choose from these days. This guest post by my dear friend and holistic equine veterinarian, Dr. Madalyn Ward, was first written 15 years ago and was specific to horses. She has abbreviated it somewhat for easy reading and made it suitable for all animals, including us humans. It’s a perfect explanation, in brief, about why Super Blue-Green Algae(tm) is one of the most beneficial foods on our planet.

Blue-green algae plays a very important part in my holistic healing practice and the health and wellness of my clients, and has for the last 20 years. The blue-green algae I use, Aphanizomenon flosaquae (AFA), comes from Upper Klamath Lake in Oregon, a pristine and rare environment. It contains all 20 amino acids, essential fatty acids, 13 necessary vitamins, 23 elements and trace elements. In addition, AFA has the ideal balance of proteins, carbohydrates, fats, complex sugars, and fiber. Few substances on Earth can boast such a complete, well rounded and wholesome nutritional composition; I trust this algae to give the body the whole-food nutrition it needs to heal properly.

Here are just a few of the reasons I rely on blue-green algae in my practice:

  •  Improvement in nail/hoof growth, healthy hair/coats and skin.

The algae is very high in beta-carotene, which is the precursor of vitamin A. Vitamin A deficiencies can affect the eyes, skin, bones, and reproductive system.

  • Better attitude and mental function.

Scientific studies with children with ADD and ADHD show increased focus and concentration when eating blue-green algae. The amino acid content in the algae supplies the body with the building blocks for neuropeptides, a deficiency of which not only affects focus and learning, but can cause depression as well. Horses on the algae are easier to train.

  • Proper Systemic Detoxification.

The cholorophyll in the algae helps detoxify the body, a process that is key to excellent health.

  • Healthier immune systems.

Double-blind research out of Canada confirms that the algae stimulates the immune system to seek out and remove virally infected and cancerous cells.

Bottom Line?  Blue-green algae supports whole food nutrition by providing a wide range of natural vitaminsminerals and amino acids, as well as free-radical scavengers like beta carotene. It is a single-cell, organic, wild-grown food in its natural form that is enzymatically active and nutrient dense, so it is uniquely suited to support overall health and wellness.

I am not aware of any other product like it on the market.
